PM Modi to Launch ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan’ on August 2; 100-Week Anti-Drug Drive Planned

New Delhi: On August 2, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan’ which will transform the fight against substance abuse into a nationwide, youth-led movement driven by the spirit of public participation.

According to a government release, this campaign will be spearheaded by ‘MY Bharat’ and will see the participation of young volunteers, educational institutions, community organizations, and social groups from across the country. Its objective is to unite youth across the country to foster awareness, community participation, and collective action towards creating a drug-free India.

As part of this launch, pledge ceremonies will be held simultaneously at approximately 10,000 locations, where over 10 million youths are expected to take a pledge for a Nasha Mukti Pledge and dedicate themselves asNasha Mukta Yuva Volunteers.

This campaign will bring together volunteers from MY Bharat, the National Service Scheme (NSS), youth clubs, educational institutions, NGOs, industry groups, and over 125 spiritual organizations to strengthen public participation in the drive against drugs.

Under this 100-week-long mass movement, various youth-led activities will be organized every Sunday. These will include sports, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural activities, street plays, creative competitions, and awareness campaigns aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and social responsibility.

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya has appealed to the youth and social organizations across the country to join this campaign and support the national mission against drug abuse. This campaign reflects the government’s vision of transforming the fight against substance abuse into a mass movement. Its message is that a drug-free youth force will play a pivotal role in achieving the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
